How much is your face worth?

Having read Georgia's post over at GLAM // UK Fashion & Beauty Blog it got me wondering, how much money I've spent on make up. This is just the stuff I use at the moment, I have so much more make up than this. Being a make up artist I also have thousands of pounds worth of make up in my kit that I don't get to use on myself, how upsetting! I tend to use a mixture of higher end and high street make up.

This is what's in my current make up bag!

GOSH Velvet Touch Primer £12.99
Dainty Doll Foundation £22
Sleek Luminous Pressed Powder £7
Sleek Blusher in Flamingo £4.49
MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft & Gentle £21.50
MAC Studio Finish Concealer £14.50

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion £14.50
L'oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Endless Chocolate £6.99
Illamasqua Medium Pencil in S.O.P.H.I.E £13
Maxfactor False Lash Effect Mascara £10.99
MUA Eyebrow Pencil £1

Carmex Cherry lipbalm £2.75
MAC Lipstick in Chatterbox £14.50 / M&S Lipstick in Bare Rose £7

£153.21

Ah, I wear £153 on my face! What is your face worth?!

Real Techniques Brush Review!

Something a little different from me today! The weather is rubbish and I've been stuck inside editing photos all week so I'm gonna do a beauty post instead of an outfit post for you!

I've been a fan of Pixiwoo for years, they are by far the best YouTube make up artists and extremely talented ladies so when I heard that Sam was bringing out her own range of make up brushes I was rather excited, being a make up artist myself and also a make up addict who loves a good brush or 2 (or more like 40 haha!)

I oringally bought the Starter Set (above) when they first came out and I use 2 of the brushes everyday and swear by them! I use the Base Shadow Brush as a blending brush for the crease and the Deluxe Crease Brush for blending in concealer. Like many MUA's I often use brushes for something other than what they were meant for and the Deluxe Crease Brush is brilliant for concealer (you can see Pixiwoo using the brush for the same thing). The brushes are very soft on the skin which I love, there's nothing worse than a scratchy brush.

When the brushes became available in Boots I squealed a little with excitement and went and got the Core Collection (above). I'd heard a lot of good reviews of the Buffing Brush for foundation so I was excited to try it out. Let me tell you, this is what has been missing from my make up bag! The brush is perfect for quick, flawless application of foundation and I can't live without it now! Although the description says it's meant for mineral foundation it works perfectly with liquid and blends your foundation in beautifully. I highly recommend this brush. Unfortunately you can't get it on it's own, only in the Core Collection but the Contour brush in this set is also lovely and I use this for applying highlighter on a daily basis.

Last week I went out and got the Blush Brush (above) which is just gorgeous. The bristles are seriously soft and a dream to use on your skin. This brush applies a lovely amount of blusher and you could also use it for powder.

In short I highly recommend these brushes, they are amazing quality and so affordable. I love having nice brushes for myself as I have over 50 brushes in my kit for clients that I don't use on myself all of which are from MAC and other expensive brands and up until now I've always had rubbish brushes myself, not anymore thanks to Real Techniques! I would go as far as to say I actually like these better than MAC brushes and as we all know MAC is even more expensive now. I may get a few of these for my kit as well. If you are looking for new brushes definitely go for these ones! I do wish you could buy them separately though as some that come in the sets don't get used as much as the others.

My Everyday Make Up

Hey guys. Something a bit different today. As you may know I'm a qualified make up artist and work on lots of brides every year and I'm also a make up obsessive and buy too much of the stuff as I'm sure alot of you guys do too! So today I'm gonna do a make up post instead of fashion!

What make up do I wear every day?

**

Eyes
Loreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Endless Chocolate.
This eyeshadow is my go to everyday as it's such an amazing colour. I love really dark brown smokey eyes. I used to wear grey everyday until I found this shade from Loreal. It really compliments my green eyes as well. I tend to wear just one shade unless I'm going somewhere special and then I'll blend some black into the outer corner.

Maxfactor False Lash Effect Mascara.
I've been using this mascara for ages and I've always gone and got another cheaper one and never been happy. I need to realise that this really is worth £12 and stop buying replacement not as good mascaras.

MAC Smoulder Eyeliner.
The best eyeliner by far but so damn expensive. MAC has really gone up in price and I decided not to renew my MAC Pro card cos I didn't need anything for my kit so I can't get my 35% discount anymore! I love this smudged on the top and bottom of my eyes.

Face
Dainty Doll Liquid Foundation
I got this for Christmas after years of trying to find a decent foundation that doesn't make me look orange. I'm very pale and every foundation I've ever tried has been too dark for my skin. This is perfect and I love it. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's not great coverage so I'm gonna end up using it up pretty quickly. A 30ml foundation usually lasts me over a year but I don't think this one will. It's a lovely texture and gives a gorgeous flow to the skin.

Sleek Luminous Pressed Powder
This is great for taking shine down but still leaving a glow as it has tiny bits a fine glitter in it. Obviously it doesn't leave you with a glittery face or anything but just a nice natural looking glow.

Bourjous Little Round Pot Blusher in Rose Coup D'Foudre & Rose D'or
Rose Coup D'Foudre is a lovely pretty peachy shade with gold shimmer and suits my skin tone perfectly. The gold shimmer gives a nice glow to the cheeks. I also use Rose D'or which is a pink and gold shade.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle.
I can't express my love for this product enough, it is stunning! I use this to highlight under my brow and on my cheek bones. This is great day and night and I like to use this for the 'no make up' make up for a nice shimmer when I'm not wearing much on my eyes.

Lips
17 Supreme Shine Lipstick in Barely Blush
I own tons of lipsticks but this is the one I'm using the most at the moment. It's a good dupe for MAC's Hot Gossip but less shimmery and more moisturising.

Brows
I tend to run some dark brown eyeshadow through my brows with an angled brush. At the moment I'm using the matts from the Sleek Storm palette.
